Delta Leadership Lecture Series for Youth

Saturdays at noon, youth ages 13-25 participate in leadership training. Topics include education, business, health, creative writing and civic responsibility. Lunch included.

"Fuel the New Year" Wellness Program
Feb 2 – Jul 12.
The six-month program includes a weight-loss contest and monthly nutrition workshops to help improve eating habits. Workshops are Feb. 2, March 1, April 2, May 3, June 7 and July 12 at 7 p.m. The grand prize winner is announced at the July 12 workshop. The contest is free to participants who sign up for a 5K or marathon program. Contest optional; workshops available at $10 each.

Mississippi Addictions Conference
Feb 9 – Feb 11.
The theme is "Trends, Treatment and Transformations: Addiction in 2012." The conference for health-care workers, counselors, law enforcement and clergy members includes lectures and break-out sessions. The keynote speaker is addiction psychiatrist Dr. Gary Carr. Meals included.

Millsaps College Honors Conference

Feb 10, the senior Millsaps Honors Program participants give 20-minute presentations on their honors theses,followed by question-and-answer sessions. The receptionis Feb. 11 in Lewis Art Gallery Feb. 11, where the Millsaps chapter of Phi Beta Kappa will give awards for the best research and best presentation. Open to the public.
