"Raoul Dufy: A Celebration of Beauty": Feb 7 – Jul 5.; Raoul Dufy's expressive style of painting has captivated people around the world since the early twentieth century. He translated his joie de vivre into lively, colorful paintings that covered themes like the sea, horse races, flowers, and music, among others. Yet his textile designs were among his greatest work and often reflect the passions expressed in his paintings.; Mississippi Museum of Art.; $12, seniors $10, students $6.

"Eudora Welty in New York": Apr 11 – Jul 5.; Jackson, Mississippi-native Eudora Welty is acknowledged as one of the great authors of the twentieth century, and in more recent years her talent as a photographer has been recognized. This exhibition features photographs of Mississippi that constitute a near complete re-creation of her first solo exhibition held in 1936 at the Photographic Galleries of Lugene Opticians in New York City.; Mississippi Museum of Art.

"American Masters of the Mississippi Gulf Coast": Apr 11 – Jul 5.; American Masters of the Mississippi Gulf Coast seeks to illuminate the intersection of the lives and work of George Ohr, Dusti Bonge, Walter Anderson and Richmond Barthe, and to further examine the history of the abundantly creative region of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.; Mississippi Museum of Art.

"The Bookworm Stitchers": May 30 – Jul 13.; This quilt is composed of squares representative of the quilts used to guide slaves escaping to freedom via the Underground Railroad.; Clinton Public Library.; Free.

"Journey Stories": May 30 – Jul 14.; "Journey Stories" is a Smithsonian exhibition that shows how our evolving mobility changed a young nation and how transportation made us grow. The accounts of travelers themselves express the hopes and promises of fresh starts, the grim realities of forced migrations and difficult journeys, and the thrills of personal travel. "Pre-Columbian Ceramics": Jan 1 – Jan 1.; The objects displayed in the cases of the Museum's lobby originate from two continents and represent a time span of more than 2,000 years. Pre-Columbian civilizations living across Peru, Mexico and Central America flourished prior to the arrival of Europeans. An array of archaeological cultures developed, several of which are represented in the collection exhibited here.; Mississippi Museum of Art.; Free.

"Back to Nature": Jul 2 – Feb 1.; Photographers are invited to submit photos of scenes from around and inside the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, with the winners receiving awards and having their work displayed in the museum.; Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.; Free.

"The Mississippi Story": Jan 1 – Jan 1.; Comprised of artwork from the Museum's permanent collection, The Mississippi Story reveals the remarkable history of visual arts in the Magnolia State. The installation includes more than 200 objects and is divided thematically into four sections: Mississippi's Landscape, Mississippi's People, Life in Mississippi and Exporting Mississippi's Culture. The exhibition is guest curated by Patti Carr Black, author of Art in Mississippi, and is the Museum's most comprehensive showing of Mississippi art from its permanent collection.
