Study shows Immigration Reduces Crime Rates

Interesting article has evidence to suggest that immigration can cut crime rates. Enjoy, I severely hope this will help extinguish the growing racism in our country, which is directed against immigrants.

The reasoning behind the stats is sort of what I was thinking:

Reasons commonly cited for the apparent paradox of first generation immigrants, especially Mexicans, are motivation to work, ambition and a desire not to be deported, characteristics that predispose them to low crime. Sampson also argues that contemporary immigrants tend to come from a multitude of cultures around the world where violence isn’t rewarded as a strategy for establishing reputation or preserving honor, as in American "street culture."

I believe that people who have a job and feel secure are less likely to break the law. I will be glad when the government can reach a fair compromise regarding illegal immigration. I think that if the government doesn't fix immigration in a way that does not discriminate against any particular ethnic group, crime will go up if illegals come here to steal out of desperation inseatd of coming for work.
