WJTV fires sports director Rick Whitlow...again

golden eagle '97 Total Topics: 110 Total Posts: 1782	This time for insubordination. According to Whitlow, WJTV fired him for refusing to work an unscheduled weekend. He said he devotes his weekends to military-family support groups following the August deployment of his son to Iraq. If what Rick says is true, that's a very bad deal. The first time he was fired from WJTV, it was for not devoting more coverage to the SEC as the management at the time wanted. I'm sure he'll land on his feet again soon. Jan 15, 08 \| 7:10 pm

Whitlow is probably haveing some real grief issues secondary to his 23 year old son being deployed to that HELL HOLE (Iraq). Most of us would. He is a Republican or at least he ran on that ticket when melton was the so-called Democrat for the mayoral race. Maybe Bush or someone in that Administration will look out for him. He really took a very tough stand for the military and family members of war participants. I suppose the old saying from Dr. King rings true: You either stand up for SOMETHING or you die for ANYTHING. Rick has drawn his line in the sand. Jan 17, 08 \| 11:12 am
