I heard yesterday that a series of radio ads endorsing Faye Peterson are about to hit the airwaves on various stations. One person doing ads on Peterson's behalf is Councilwoman Margaret Barrett-Simon. [See my column, "The Mayor and His Women".

Others?

A couple of articles I found has some names linked with 100 Concerned Clergy. This article from The Mississippi Link via BlackMississippi.com lists the Revs. Adolphus Weary, Jesse "Pops" Sutton, Ed McBride and Paul Luckett. This 2005 story from WLBT.com lists Ronnie Crudup. The story from the Mississippi Link did not explicitly say any of the ministers are a part of 100 Concerned Clergy, though one could draw a conclusion that they do. In the same breath, it can't be concluded that any individual members of the 100 Concerned Clergy do or do not support Ms. Peterson.

I can't wait to see them duke it out in commercials and public forums. May the best person wins. Both are good people and I'd be surprised to see either campaign in a low down and dirty way. Both are qualified with one of them being clearly more prepared to perform this job, unless something is revealed later that's not apparent. We shall see what happens. Good luck to both.

You don't want the truth. Because deep
down, in places you don't talk about at
parties, you want me on that wall. You need me
on that wall
(boasting)
We use words like honor, code,
loyalty...we use these words as the
backbone to a life spent defending
something. You use 'em as a punchline.
(beat)
I have neither the time nor the
inclination to explain myself to a man who
rises and sleeps under the blanket of the
very freedom I provide, then questions the
manner in which I provide it. I'd prefer
you just said thank you and went on your
way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a
weapon and stand a post. Either way, I
don't give a damn what you think you're
entitled to.

BREAKING NEWS!
According to very reliable sources, Michele Purvis endorsed Peterson today at her (Purvis') church. According to my sources, the congregation responded to the endorsement with a standing ovation.

Later today, during Bluntson's "Crooked Talk" uh, "Straight Talk" show, Bluntson and his guest, Mr. Higginbotham, received the news of Mrs. Purvis' endorsement with much contempt and even chastised Purvis for her actions. Bluntson went so far as to request that Stephanie Weaver talk to Purvis about her decision. Purvis called into the show and defended her position by simply saying that the DA needed to have integrity and she doubted that Mr. Smith was equipped with the above quality.

Interesting turn of events.

It has been reported that the 100 Concerned Clergy is supporting Peterson.

This is true according to the C-L.

This is a *very* interesting turn of events. Keep the word coming, folks. Anybody got a tape of Bluntson's show?

BJM, I'm sorry, but parts of your post went too far.

We're been hearing about the WMPR drama yesterday. AGAIN, does anyone have a tape of the show?

Hey, if Michele is standing up to these guys, her stock is rising with me.

Let me guess: Christopher Walker knows all her secrets to. <sarcasm off>

I'm glad to see Michele rebound well. If she gets experience at trying felony cases, and run again someday with a real agenda based in facts, she would likely do a lot better. One time I will admit she has lots of is courage and confidence. Her commercials turned me off and I thought they played to fears and falsehoods about Faye, which bothered me tremendously.

I wonder why there weren't any commercials or attacks against Robert by her earlier. Why is he suddenly a bad man. Oh wel,l I wish Faye and Robert the best. It's heart-warming that neither is being nasty to the other. At least not yet.

Hopefully, that 65% of a certain segment of this community is beginning to see the light. Blunson and his cronies, to include the late Charles Tisdale, have minipulated people through his silly talk show on WMPR. These folks, including Stephanie Parker-Weaver, who I continue to say, "knows better," should look at the absence of the community from Tisdale.

I don't want to say anything bad about the dead; however, Mr. Tisdale spent a lifetime dogging good black people. Anyone that he could not buy was automatically put in his "Brown Society." This was very defeating for so many people because there was not a viable outlet to dispute his too often hurtful claims. I just don't think that he had the historical account of positive contributions to qualify as a drum leader for Civil Rights.

Back to subject: Ladd, I have tried to get copies of tapes from the WMPR "straight talk." They claim that they do not record their broadcast. This is hard to believe.

I agree. I didn't want to dislike her when I read about her involvement with the Ayers case since I was in a protest and march for that, but her commercials really got under my skin. It would be nice if you guys could do a full interview with her again.

It makes sense that Michele Purvis backs F. Peterson...it would speak volumes about her if she supported a DEFENSE attorney like Smith. It's hurtful that he would go against a diva legend, but dude is ambitious and has nothing to lose. FAYE...ALL THE WAY!!

I just called Jimmie Gates about the omission of Sheriff McMillan from their list of endorsements for Faye Peterson.
He told me that Sheriff McMillan has ONLY said that he wouldn't support anyone associated with Frank Melton.
Does anyone have a link proving that McMillan has endorsed her? I swear I read it somewhere, and I thought it was in the C-L.
Can't find it now.
Maddening.

Also - someone find out who produced the radio spots. We need to post them somewhere. Those TV spots are AWESOME, too. Jim Dollarhide dies good work!
