With the addition of Garnett, the Cs now have a Big Three of KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. Certainly not stars who are in their prime years yet still amazing talent nevertheless. They are thin bench-wise but its true that stars win games in the NBA so they should be there when the playoffs begin.
Basically, I think Boston does severe damage in the not-as-strong Eastern Conference. Especially since LeBron James was able to single handidly carry Cleveland last season. The Cavs didn't have much of a bench either.

If Pierce and Allen stay healthy they should make a serious run. I don't know if they can beat the team from the Western Conference if they make the Finals though.

Heck yeah! I finally caught some footage of the press conference they had a few weeks ago, and Garnett looked giddy - like he was 18 again! They know the history of Boston, and they know they can be the new face of the franchise for years to come if they can get to the Finals a couple of times. We may have to wait one year for them to get enough complementary pieces since the Eastern Conference is going to be tougher next year. Well that, and, until Boston realizes Doc Rivers is not a good coach, they may suffer. If he is such a 'players coach,' maybe he needs to be a 'players GM' or 'Pres. of Operations.' ;-)
