It all began with a simple post in June 2005 on a new blog called BLOGGING PROJECT RUNWAY. The entry was made by Laura Kluvo (aka Laura K), and in it she expressed her dismay over the end of the first season of Project Runway and her desire to be prepared for the next second season when it began. "I intend to blog away after every episode and I hope others will join me with fascinating comments. In fact.. bring on the comments now if you'd like. I'd appreciate any help I can get. Please pass on any PR news or information..."

And now over 16 months and 4,344,000 hits later, BLOGGING PROJECT RUNWAY has become THE place to visit when you are looking for Project Runway news, want someone to "chat" with during the hour show and even share your thoughts after each episode or event ends. Laura K and the other members of the BLOGGING PROJECT RUNWAY crew have earned respect not only from the lovers of the BRAVO TV hit show, but those associated with the Emmy-nominated show as well. Tim Gunn, the mentor for each season's designers, said that BPR is "brilliantly written and utterly hilarious!" Andy Cohen, Bravo Vice-President of Production and Programing said this: "I have to give a special shout-out to our friends at Blogging Project Runway ... an excellent fan site about the show ... they have great respect for the show and it shows through the site. Bravo, BPR!"

The planning committee of the Mississippi's Best Awards is pleased to announce that Laura Kluvo of BLOGGING PROJECT RUNWAY will be joining FIVE Project Runway designers covering all three seasons as part of events surrounding the "Mississippi’s Best Weekend" in Jackson, Mississippi beginning Friday, October 27, 2006. Laura K. will be reporting on the event in real-time with those at BLOGGING PROJECT RUNWAY, adding more excitement and behind-the-scenes stories to an already explosive event.

"I was thrilled when Laura said she was interested in joining us for this special event," says Cyrus A. Webb,31, the founder of the Mississippi's Best Awards. "This is the first time that these five designers have ever been together, and we are doing it right here in Mississippi! This is something that everyone should be glad to see and we are glad that Laura will be here to see it firsthand."

On Oct. 27, Angela Keslar and Vincent Libretti and Zulema will be part of Mississippi’s Best Passion for Fashion at the Regency Hotel in downtown Jackson. This will begin at 5:30p.m. As on the Bravo TV show, those in attendance can participate in a “challenge.” Wear something by a Mississippian — jewelry, shirt, dress, etc. — and the most fashionable will be recognized at the end of the evening. There will be free food for those in attendance and a cash bar. The special guest performer for the evening will be Mississippi's own JAZ . (Read more on Jaz here: http://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewnews.asp?AuthorID=3920&id=14332) This will be followed by a fashion show at 7:30p.m. featuring Mississippi designers and boutiques. Tickets, $25, will be available at the door, or online at www.shadowplayent.com A portion of ticket prices benefit Building Bridges Inc., an organization that benefits HIV/AIDS awareness. For information about the fashion show and how you can be a part, contact Jackie at 601.923.6461.

On Oct. 28, Kara Saun, Daniel Franco, Vincent Libretti, Angela Keslar and Zulema will be part of a live taping of "Conversations with C.A. Webb" at 4:30 p.m. at the TelCom Center. Those interested in fashion and modeling may wear a work or have a model wear it for a critique by the Project Runway alums. Tickets, $15, will be available at the door or online in advance at www.shadowplayent.com A portion of the proceeds benefit Grace House which also helps those affected by HIV/AIDS.
DISCOUNTS ARE BEING OFFERED TO THOSE WHO WANT TO ATTEND SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE EVENTS! Visit this link: http://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewevent.asp?id=7573

The event that we all have been waiting for is the 1st Mississippi’s Best Awards, where the best of the state will be recognized in over 40 categories. Everything from the arts, music, literature, journalism, politics and business will get its chance to shine. Special guests include Miss Mississippi Taryn Foshee, City Councilman President Ben Allen, Mysterious from MTV’s Making the Band, Kara Saun, Angela Keslar, Jesse Robinson and more. Special tributes will be given to Morgan Freeman, David Banner, Kamikaze, 3 Doors Down, Deuce McAllister, John Grisham, Marshall Ramsey and others who have made the state what it is today. Unlike any other awards show the state has held, this one is unique in that everything from the arts, business, politics, sports literature and more will be recognized on one special night. Thanks to the support of local and national recognition, we are fortunate enough to offer great opportunities for ANYONE to receive recognition for what they do!

Laura K will join the Project Runway designers as part of our red carpet, beginning at 6 p.m. for the Mississippi’s Best Awards show later that evening on Oct. 28. Other media outlets will be The Vicksburg Post, FHR Radio (Florida), The Lady Walker Show (Public Access), TV23 (Vicksburg's Public Access), Admission Granted (the NEW CW formerly UPN) and others. This is free for viewers to check out the arrivals and fashions.
