Art in the Library

See Martha Harrell's paintings in the front living room through Sept. 30.

As part of the ongoing Art in the Library program at the Flowood Public Library, Martha Harrell will be showcasing her artwork in the front living room of the library throughout August and September. Harrell is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and has also studied with artists Laurel Schoolar, Richard Stowe, and Bob Rohm. She is a member of the Mississippi Artists Guild. Her media are acrylic, ink/watercolor, oil. She has sold her art in Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, and Mississippi. Among other shows, she was juried into the 2010 “Just Dance” exhibit in Jackson and the “100-Alumni” show at USM. The Art in the Library is a program sponsored by the Flowood Public Library, which provides display space for works created by local artists. The Art in the Library exhibits rotate on a regular one or two month schedule. This program would not be possible without the continuous support from the Friends of the Flowood Public Library and the creativity and community involvement of local artists.
