On January 31, 2014, the American Heart Association will host the 36th annual Jackson Heart Ball at the Country Club of Jackson. This event is widely recognized, formerly as Art for Heart, as a premier philanthropic event in Jackson.
The Jackson Heart Ball is a celebration of the community’s support of the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association, contributing over $5.8 million to the cause since its inception. The funds raised support research and education programs in Mississippi and around the nation. These educational programs that provide lifesaving tools and information focus on the prevention aspect of heart disease and stroke, which are making it possible for more people to live free from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
The event will feature silent, live and interactive art auctions. Attendees will also be treated to a seated dinner and live entertainment. Another highlight is the Richard Lee Miller Heart Saver Award, which will be presented on the evening of Jackson Heart Ball. During this portion of the evening, the American Heart Association will recognize someone in the community whose CPR intervention was life-saving.
Jackson Heart Ball sponsors are Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi, Baptist Health Systems, Mrs. Richard Miller, Gertrude Ford Foundation, Bank Plus, HMA, St. Dominic Health System, and University Medical Center, VIP Magazine and WJTV.
