WellsFest
The annual event includes a 5K race at 8 a.m., a pet a parade at 9 a.m., and a festival with food, children's activities and more from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Mac McAnally and Greg "Fingers" Taylor perform. Proceeds benefit the Farish Street YMCA.

The 29th WellsFest will be held Saturday, September 29, at Jamie Fowler Boyll Park, next to Smith-Wills Stadium on Lakeland Drive. All proceeds go to the Farish Street YMCA for upgrading of its playground . The festival features a 5K run and walk and one-mile fun run at 8 a.m., a pet parade at 9 a.m., and from 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. -- live music from some of the best bands in the Jackson area, food booths, children's activities, an arts and crafts vendor area, a plant sale, and a silent auction of goods and services.
