Donna Ladd is a Neshoba County native with degrees from Mississippi State and Columbia University. She was the editor of the Colorado Springs Independent, a regular freelancer for the Village Voice and has taught journalism at the college level and in seminars.

Art Director
Jimmy Mumford conceived the overall look and manages the design of the Jackson Free Press. He is an assistant graphic design professor at Jackson State University. A Delta State University grad, Jimmy is also a freelance graphic and Web designer.

Senior Editor
JoAnne Prichard Morris was executive editor of University Press of Mississippi for 15 years. A writer, editor and folklorist, she is a Crown Publishing editor-at-large and is writing a book with civil-rights fighter Unita Blackwell. She is the widow of writer Willie Morris.

Assistant Editor
J. Bingo Holman, an Elvis and cat fanatic, is a Jackson native. She has been a bartender and manager for several years.

Music and Events Editor
Herman Snell is a father, Jackson native, Eagle Scout, amateur geneologist, and abstract painter who incorporates movement into his art. He was the W.C. Don's DJ in the late 80's, early 90's, and has written for alternative music, surreal prose, experiental film, futurist, lateral thinking, and philosophy publications.

Lori Herring, a native Alabamian, has lived in Jackson for two-and-a-half years. Previously a columnist for the Clarion Ledger, she is now a freelance writer.

Deborah Noel, a corporate refugee, is now a freelance writer, photographer, Reiki practitioner, and a student of complementary and alternative medicine.

Mimi Holland-Lilly is a writer, an anthropologist and a stay-at-home mother of two in Jackson, Miss.

Jennifer Spann is a writer living and working in Jackson. She is happily married and delightfully childfree.

Anthony DiFatta is an artist and graphic designer in Jackson and works part-time with mentally ill homeless adults.

Charles A. Smith, a Tougaloo graduate, is operations manager for the ArtsAlliance of Jackson & Hinds County, and is a freelance photographer for news agencies, magazines and public relations and commercial clients.

Jaro Vacek has been "temporarily" visiting Jackson from the Czech Republic for eight years. He is studying photography and communications at Jackson State.

Account Manager
Stephen Barnette, a Jackson native and a graduate of USM, is account manager for the Free Press. He recently designed and renovated two Downtown loft apartments, one of them his own.

Alisa Price, a Virginia native, she lives in North Jackson with her husband Hillary and their 2-year-old daughter, Darryn. She was formerly with the Clarion-Ledger and Planet Weekly.

Todd Stauffer is a book author and magazine writer from Dallas, Texas. He was the editor of Texas Computing Magazine, a contributing writer for Publish, a columnist for Silicon Alley Reporter and a car reviewer/travel writer for Gotham and Hampton's magazines.
